SpaceTek UK’s video description reports an existing connection of around 6 Mbps and a post-installation result of around 200 Mbps. Those figures describe the recorded experience at this property, not a promised speed for another installation. Performance varies with the service, conditions, obstructions and the local network.
The useful lesson is to assess both the incoming connection and the way devices connect indoors. If the existing service is slow, note how it behaves in the rooms you actually use before deciding what needs to improve.
Working around a stone wall and roof junction
The photograph shows a compact dark mounting arrangement beside the top of the stone wall. Nearby gutters and changes in roof height make the mounting position more involved than simply choosing the highest visible point. The support and dish need suitable clearance without interfering with those building features.
Stonework varies in condition and construction. Fixings should be selected for the actual wall, and a photograph cannot establish the strength of the material behind the surface. Assessing the structure and planning safe access are part of deciding whether a proposed position is suitable.
Check the view before settling on a mounting point
Roof sections, trees and neighbouring buildings may affect the available sky view. Starlink recommends the obstruction-checking tool in its app to help assess candidate locations. A clear-looking patch of sky in a photograph is not the same as a complete obstruction check from the proposed dish position.
For this type of property, send a wide photograph that includes the roof junctions and surrounding features. A close-up of the mounting wall is useful too, but it should accompany the wider view.
Getting the connection into the rooms that matter
Plan the cable route, entry point and indoor equipment position together. Stone walls can make Wi-Fi coverage a separate challenge even when the satellite connection is performing well. Mention remote work, streaming rooms or a separate building when requesting an installation quote.
