This Starlink installation in Clitheroe uses a pole mount on a rural stone property. The photograph shows two wall brackets supporting the pole, with the dish positioned above the adjacent roofline and the cable following the outside of the building.

A mounting arrangement suited to the building
The stone wall is the most distinctive feature of this installation. Rather than sitting on the ground, the dish is supported from the wall by a metal pole and two brackets. The photograph also shows the nearby window and the route taken by the external cable.
This example demonstrates why mounting details should be considered in relation to the whole building. A proposed position may offer a useful sky view but create a difficult cable entry or require access that needs to be planned in advance.
Assessing the wall before selecting fixings
Different stone buildings can have very different wall conditions. The surface appearance alone does not confirm the strength or construction behind it. The bracket arrangement, fixing method and pole should be chosen after assessing the mounting surface and the demands of that position.
A pole also needs an appropriate location relative to the eaves. Simply extending it higher is not a complete solution to obstructions. The final position should be checked for the sky view Starlink requires, including nearby trees and roof sections outside the photograph.
Keep the cable route part of the initial plan
The installation photo shows the external cable descending along the stonework. Agreeing the route at the outset helps position the dish, cable entry and indoor equipment sensibly. The aim is a planned path that suits the property rather than a last-minute route around windows and other features.
Inside a stone property, identify the rooms where reliable connectivity matters most. A satellite connection and indoor Wi-Fi coverage are different things. If a study is separated by several thick walls, or a workshop needs internet, raise that requirement before the installation is specified.

Clitheroe installation questions
Is this pole height suitable for every stone property?
No. The building, surrounding obstructions and safe mounting options determine the arrangement. The photograph illustrates this particular installation.
Should I choose the indoor router position before the dish position?
Consider both together. The dish needs a suitable sky view, while indoor equipment needs power, an appropriate cable route and a useful position for the local network.
