This Starlink installation in Blackburn was for a new-build property that had no internet while the development remained unfinished. SpaceTek UK’s project video describes the connection problem and records the installation of the customer’s residential Starlink kit.

An internet connection before the development was complete
Moving into a new home does not always mean the fixed broadband connection is ready. In this Blackburn case, the unfinished site left the property without internet. The video description identifies a residential kit bought from Currys, which SpaceTek installed at the property.
The useful distinction is between equipment ownership and installation planning. Having the kit ready gives us a starting point, but the mounting surface, cable entry, power and intended rooms still need to be considered. Starlink service availability and activation should also be checked for the address.
The wall-mounted installation shown in the photograph
The finished installation uses a metal pole and a pair of wall brackets on the brickwork. The dish extends above the adjacent roof edge. This arrangement keeps the support on the wall while placing the dish clear of the immediate eaves.
New-build homes can have different wall constructions and external finishes. Mount selection should follow an assessment of the actual structure, rather than treating every brick-faced wall as identical. The developer or property owner should also confirm any restrictions affecting external fittings before work is agreed.
Plan for the way the home will be used
A new connection should support the rooms where it is needed. Before installation, identify a sensible cable entry and power point, then think about the location of workstations, televisions and other devices. Avoid choosing an indoor router position solely because it is closest to the outside dish.
If fixed broadband is expected later, explain whether Starlink is intended as the main connection or an interim solution. That helps when planning the physical route and equipment placement. Check the current service terms directly with Starlink rather than assuming a particular contract or cancellation arrangement.
Questions to resolve before the installation visit
Useful details include the move-in date, the exact kit model, whether power is live, access around the property and the areas that need Wi-Fi. Photos of the proposed wall and wider roofline help identify questions before an engineer visits.
Our Blackburn installation service page explains the wider service. This case study shows one practical response to a new-build connection delay.
Blackburn installation questions
Can SpaceTek install a kit bought from a retailer?
Yes, this project used a customer-supplied retail kit. Share the exact model and what is included so the installation and mounting requirements can be checked.
Does a new-build installation require the same mount as this one?
Not necessarily. The building construction, sky view and access determine the appropriate solution; this photograph is an example, not a universal fitting plan.
